Innovation Bridge: Building Capabilities for the Saudi Arabian Market

Export Akademie Baden-Württemberg and the Ministry of Investment of Saudi Arabia sign MoU to advance technology transfer and global business development

Export Akademie Baden-Württemberg (EABW) is proud to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The agreement establishes a framework of cooperation to support companies in both Saudi Arabia and Europe in technology transfer and global business development, marking a significant step in strengthening economic ties between the two regions.

A Shared Commitment to Capability Building

The partnership is built around a clear and practical goal: helping small and medium-sized enterprises, global start-ups, and established local firms strengthen their position in the Saudi Arabian market. Rather than offering generic training, the programme is designed to build real, applicable expertise in technology transfer and global business development — skills that translate directly into market success.

To achieve measurable results quickly, the initiative will train managers through job-integrated programmes built around real-world business cases. A central feature of this approach is the use of Human-Centred AI (HCAI), ensuring that technology serves as a tool for better decision-making rather than a replacement for human judgement and leadership.

This methodology draws on two pillars of EABW’s expertise: a formula for skills development refined over more than 40 years, and the proprietary IMLead® Heptathlon model for Integrated Management & Leadership. Together, these provide a tested foundation for capability building that is both rigorous and immediately relevant to the demands of international business.

Building a Two-Way Bridge

The collaboration is designed to work in both directions. On one side, it will support European companies seeking to transfer their knowledge, technology, and business models into the Saudi Arabian market and establish a lasting presence there. On the other, it aims to identify and unlock the global export potential of Saudi Arabian companies, helping them reach new international markets with confidence.

At the heart of this exchange is a focus on transformation: taking today’s market and technological challenges and converting them into valuable products, services, and business models. This is achieved by connecting several forward-looking themes in new and effective ways, including artificial intelligence, carbon-neutral solutions, sustainability, the circular economy, innovation, and local economic development.

Join the Global Alliance for Sustainable Technology Transfer

This MoU is just the beginning. EABW is inviting partners, companies, and organisations who share this vision to help expand the innovation bridge between Europe and Saudi Arabia even further.

Interested parties are encouraged to become part of the Global Alliance for Sustainable Technology Transfer (UNASTT) — a growing network dedicated to driving sustainable, technology-led economic cooperation across borders.

Together, we can turn shared ambition into shared progress — and build a better world for tomorrow.
