The most important takeaways
This year’s WEF and UNGSII SDG Lab were characterised by inspiring discussions, insights into new technological concepts for green industrialisation, the integration of artificial intelligence into management processes, and new visions for creating SDG regions and SDG cities with the SDG Scenario Simulation.
New technologies to produce green methanol open new possibilities for energy storage. With low-cost modules, combustion engines can be converted to green methanol and trucks can be operated in a CO2-neutral way. The new capabilities of artificial intelligence make it possible to achieve the green transformation faster and more efficiently. The complexity of building SDG cities was demonstrated with the ‚SDG Scenario Simulation‘. The key finding: SDG regions require a holistic approach that includes involving people, regional architecture, green industrialisation, smart agriculture, healthcare and capacity building.
Many thanks to Roland Schatz and Zuzana Beluska from the UNGSII Foundation for bringing together people from different disciplines to implement the SDGs, for creating a better world tomorrow.
