SDG Technology Transfer Alliance

About the Alliance

Global Alliance for Sustainable Development and Technology Transfer

Driving sustainable technology transfer for the Global South.

The “Global Alliance for Sustainable Technology Transfer” is an initiative of the Export-Akademie Baden-Württemberg. The core element of SDG technology transfer is the Development of Sustainable Ecosystems, sustainable exploitation of raw materials and the development of local value chains in countries of the Global South. The initiative was first presented in 2022 by Prof. Dr. Bertram Lohmüller at the UNGSII Foundation’s SDG Lab, which takes place annually as part of the World Economic Forum in Davos.

The Global Alliance for Sustainable Development and Technology Transfer brings together universities, businesses, and organizations that are committed to building sustainable ecosystems. Our work focuses on enabling responsible use of natural resources and creating local value chains in the Global South.

At the heart of the alliance is the SDG Technology Transfer Competence Center of the Export-Akademie Baden-Württemberg, which works with local partner institutes in the target countries to deliver impact. These local centers of excellence serve as a platform that connects key partners and their areas of expertise, drives innovation, and bundles training and continuing education initiatives to successfully and effectively implement SDG technology transfer projects.

The Framework for the Global Alliance for Sustainable Technology Transfer is the IMLead® Heptathlon concept for integrated Management and Leadership.
